- Installing Notice Board Under Microsoft Windows
-
-
-
-
- Notice Board is not Windows software, however, it will run under windows in a
- DOS shell.
-
-
- 1. Start Windows and click on the File option in Program Manager to
- create a New Program Item. Set the Description to 'Notice Board', the
- command line to NOTICE.BAT and the Working Directory to the
- installation disk and sub-directory.
-
-
- 2. To set up an appropriate icon, click on Change Icon. Windows will
- report that there are no program icons available and suggest you choose
- from those available for the Program Manager. Click on Okay to
- display the Change Icon window and then modify the Filename to be
- NOTICE.ICL in the directory in which Notice Board was installed.
- Select an icon from the set displayed.
-
-
- 3. Click on Okay to save the new program item.
-
-
- 4. It is possible to run the Notice Board package in a window, on PCs
- using Windows Enhanced Mode. If you are unsure of the mode that
- the PC is using, click on Help in Program Manager, then select About
- Windows. If you wish to run Notice Board in a window, then first use
- the PIF editor to modify the file NOTICE.PIF, in the installation
- directory. The Program Filename should be modified to point
- NOTICE.BAT in the installation directory and the Startup Directory
- also set to this directory. Select the 'Windowed' radio button to
- ensure that the program starts in a window. Save the PIF file and then
- use File Properties in Program Manager to modify the command line to
- NOTICE.PIF rather than NOTICE.BAT.
