  23. 1.0  About AN
  24. ---------------------
  25.      AN makes Network handling and -documentation more efficient.
  26.      You can view all valid Bindery-Data in only one view.
  27.      Print out a single user or your whole network environment with
  28.      one command.
  29.      Some special functions support you to get the last out of Netware.
  30.  
  31. 1.1  Technical
  32. ---------------------
  33.      AN uses the File Server-Bindery where all Objects and their Properties
  34.      are stored (Users, Queues, Servers, Accounts, X-Ref' Tables ...).
  35.      It enables you to do special things by manipulating properties you
  36.      normaly haven't access to.
  37.      It also gets the Login-Scrips related to the users Object-ID.

  39. 2.0  Getting started
  40. ----------------------
  41.      FIRST : Login to at least one File-Server with Supervisor-Privileges !
  42.  
  43.      Start AN and choose OBJECTS from the main-menu.
  44.      Select the kind of object you want to get informed about.
  45.      If there are any objects of this type you will get a Pick-List, where you 
  46.      can pick the entry you are interested in.
  47.      The information-screen (at the lower right) is updated as you are moving 
  48.      through the list. It gives you all information known about the highlighted
  49.      object.
  50.      You can select an entry by moving through the list with the cursor or by
  51.      typing the name of the entry (char by char).
  52.  
  53. 2.1  Printing
  54. -----------------------
  55.      To print a single Object's data select one out of the Pick-List and press
  56.      Print-Key F9. To print all Objects of a type (Users, Groups) select the
  57.      Object-Type and press F9.
  58.      Select 'ALL' to print the whole environment of your server.

  61. 2.2  Select default server   (Multiple Server Version only !)
  62. ---------------------------
  63.      If you have more than one fileserver you can switch between by picking 
  64.      one out of the 'attached servers-list'. The actual server is shown in
  65.      the header.
  66.      If the desired server isn't attached choose 'ATTACH' and attach to it.

  68. 2.3  Reset accounts
  69. -----------------------
  70.      If you are using accounting for statistical reason, here you can set all
  71.      accounts (User & Printserver) to zero.
  72.      ONLY use this function if you just started AN and logged into the desired 
  73.      server before. Do not try this function after you used the 
  74.      'Change Server'- Function ! This will make the Program crash !
  75.  
  76. 2.4  SYSCON/PCONSOLE
  77. -----------------------
  78.      You can use AN as Management-Tool. To edit the shown data it has the 
  79.      ability to invoke SYSCON and PCONSOLE from the main-menu.

  81. 2.5  Copy Files -> User
  82. -----------------------
  83.      This Function enables you to copy a file to several user's home directory.
  84.      Select this Function. You will get a File-Selector-Box of your current
  85.      directory. Choose the file you want to copy and press RETURN.
  86.      Mark the users you want the file copied to with SPACE (a SQRT will mark
  87.      the selected entry). Then press ENTER to start Copying or ESC to leave the
  88.      function.

  90. 2.6  Queue Activity
  91. ------------------------
  92.      This Utility shows printqueue-activity and -status of the choosen server.

  95. 3.0  Troubleshooting
  96. -----------------------
  97.      Be sure to have IPX and NETx loaded on your Workstation.
  98.  
  99.      IF ATTACH/NCOPY/SYSCON/PCONSOLE don't work, be sure to have enough memory
  100.      to start these programs as child-process. If you haven't space enough
  101.      try DOS 5.0 and QEMM386 6.0. (up to 620 kB free.)
  102.      
  103.      As these functions search for the Netware program in SYS:PUBLIC be 
  104.      sure to have the files(syscon.exe, pconsole.exe, attach.exe, ncopy.exe) 
  105.      located there.

  107. 4.0  Limitations
  108. -----------------------
  109.      - up to 999 Objects.
  110.      - only 32  groups shown a user could be in.
  111.      - only 128 group members shown.
