  3. GENISYS Comm, Inc. announces version 2.0 of the GCP++ Development 
  4. Pack.  GCP++ is a Windows Sockets Application that provides UDP, 
  5. TCP, TELNET and TFTP programming access to TCP/IP networks.  
  6. Windows developers using GCP++ get their TCP/IP-aware applications 
  7. on-line quickly without spending months programming and testing 
  8. socket library code.  GCP++ may be distributed royalty-free with 
  9. client applications.

  11. Utilizing any Windows Sockets Supplier's stack, the GCP++ server supports 
  12. multiple client applications, allocating resources fairly and hiding
  13. the complexities of the Windows Sockets API from the developer.  A
  14. WindowsNT version is under development.

  16. GCP++ creates opportunities for developers to write complex, 
  17. cooperative network applications without dealing with the 
  18. complexities of socket library and remote procedure call 
  19. conventions.  PC to UNIX and PC to PC communications are 
  20. supported, providing integrators and developers with a suite of 
  21. tools to control remote processes and move data over TCP/IP 
  22. networks.

  24. The low-overhead GCP++ allocates resources dynamically, conserving 
  25. workstation resources, so the user sees no degradation in system 
  26. response when communications are idle.  Once servers are created, 
  27. they process in the background, minimizing their impact on 
  28. interactive applications, then delete themselves when finished.  
  29. GCP++ allocates networking resources fairly, enforcing RgoodS 
  30. Windows programming practices.

  32. The GCP++ API library is used to initiate communication service 
  33. with minimal programming effort.  The client application specifies 
  34. the type of communication server required (UDP, TCP, TELNET or 
  35. TFTP .  The UDP, TCP, and Telnet servers provide buffered 
  36. communications with the specified remote host.  The TFTP server 
  37. moves files to/from any other TFTP-capable host.  An additional 
  38. server (called GCP) supports session-level services with a peer 
  39. GCP++, providing window-to-window communication, file transfer, 
  40. and real-time voice between multimedia PCs.  All aspects of 
  41. connection set-up, required polling, asynchronous callbacks, data 
  42. transfer, error handling, and tear-down are handled transparently.  
  43. A callback message to the user's window informs the application 
  44. that a requested action has completed.

  46. The GCP++ Development Pack includes the GCP++ server, API library, 
  47. documentation, and a client application written using Borland C++ 
  48. (source code included).  The GCP++ Integrator's Toolkit is also 
  49. offered, which also includes server source code for creating 
  50. customized server functionality.  Available separately, PhoneNet++ 
  51. is a client application to GCP++, providing voice-over-ethernet 
  52. between Windows multimedia PCs.

  54. Contract programming/consulting is also offered to support unique 
  55. customer requirements.  Future releases are underway to support 
  56. Windows NT and UNIX versions of GCP++.
