  2.     How to obtain SNNS

  5. The SNNS simulator can be obtained via anonymous ftp from host
  6.  
  7.         ftp.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de  (129.69.211.2)

  9. in the subdirectory
  10.  
  11.         /pub/SNNS
  12.  
  13. as file
  14.  
  15.         SNNSv3.2.tar.Z
  16.  
  17. or in several parts as files
  18.  
  19.         SNNSv3.2.tar.Z.aa ... SNNSv3.2.tar.Z.ae
  20.  
  21. These split files are each less than 500 KB and can be joined with the
  22. Unix `cat' command  into one file SNNSv3.2.tar.Z .  Be sure to set the
  23. ftp mode to binary before  transmission of the  files.  Also watch out
  24. for possible higher version numbers,  patches  or Readme  files in the
  25. above directory /pub/SNNS .  After successful transmission of the file
  26. move it to the directory where you want  to  install  SNNS, uncompress
  27. the file with the Unix command
  28.  
  29.         uncompress SNNSv3.2.tar.Z
  30.  
  31. and then use the command
  32.  
  33.         tar -xvf SNNSv3.2.tar
  34.  
  35. This will extract SNNS in the current directory. The SNNS distribution
  36. includes  full  source  code, installation  procedures  for  supported
  37. machine architectures, some  simple examples  of  trained networks and
  38. the  full  English documentation as LaTeX source  code with PostScript
  39. images included.

  41. A PostScript version of the documentation of SNNS is also available in
  42. the same SNNS ftp directory as file
  43.  
  44.     SNNSv3.2.Manual.ps.Z
  45.  
  46. It must  be  uncompressed  and  should  then  print on any  PostScript
  47. printer.  Again  remember  to  set  the  ftp  mode  to  binary  before
  48. transmission of the file.
