  7.       TRIAL USE LICENSE

  9.       CUSTOM SOFTWARE CREATORS grants you a limited license to
  10.       use this  software for evaluation  purposes for a period
  11.       of thirty(30) days.  If you continue using this software
  12.       after the thirty day evaluation period, you are required
  13.       to pay registration fees to CUSTOM SOFTWARE CREATORS.

  17.       DISTRIBUTION

  19.       We encourage  you to  freely  copy  and  distribute  the
  20.       shareware  version  of  SCRL  subject  to  the following
  21.       restrictions:

  23.       You may  charge a distribution  fee for the package, but
  24.       you must not represent in any  way that you are  selling
  25.       the software itself.

  27.       The  Semiconductor Cross-Reference Library, including all
  28.       related program files and documentation files, CANNOT be
  29.       modified in any way and must be distributed as a complete
  30.       package, without exception.

  34.       GETTING STARTED
  35.  
  36.       Semiconductor Cross-Reference Library is very easy to use,
  37.       and  understand.  It takes  longer to create  the  indexes
  38.       than  it does to  learn how  to use  SCRL, On line help is
  39.       provided  if needed.  Shareware  version  has  47 thousand
  40.       devices in it's  listings and the  registered  version has
  41.       over 230 thousand.

  43.       You must have at least 15 Buffers and 15 files set in your
  44.       CONFIG.SYS file: BUFFERS=15
  45.                        FILES=15
  46.  
  47.       The first time SCRL is run, it will create indexes.
  48.       Depending on the speed of your computer this can take
  49.       a few minutes.

  51.       SCRL needs 3 meg of hard drive space to operate and a EGA
  52.       or VGA/SVGA monitor to be able to display the graphics.
  53.  
  54.       If at anytime you get Index(NTX) Error or any of the search
  55.       functions are not  working properly.  cd\dir_name, dir_name
  56.       = the directory in  which  SCRL  is stored in and type "DEL
  57.       *.NTX" <Enter>.  This will  delete all indexes and when you
  58.       start SCRL the next time it will recreate the indexes.

  61.          1. Make a directory called SCRL, or name of your choice.
  62.             c:md\SCRL <Enter>
  63.  
  64.          2. UnZip SCRL5_0 to the directory you just made.
  65.  
  66.          3. Change to the SCRL directory.
  67.             cd\SCRL <Enter>
  68.  
  69.          4. Execute SCRL50 and it will create the index files.
