  21.     Windows NT 3.51, or
  22.     Windows 3.1 with Win32s 1.3.

  35. 2.Installation:
  36.  
  37.   Throw the files into a directory of your choice. Run Awave.EXE.
  38.   Go through the Help menu. Especially read the Step by Step section.

  41. 3.Registration:
  42.  
  43.   Registered users will  obtain a personal  registration keycode contained
  44.   in a file named 'WHATEVER.KEY'. See 'REGISTER.TXT' on how to obtain one.

  46.   To enter the registration code:
  47.   Start up Awave. Choose 'Options->Program...->Register...'and locate this
  48.   file in order to register Awave and remove all imposed limitations.
  49.   You only need to do this once. Do not store the 'WHATEVER.KEY' file on a
  50.   publically  accessible media less someone may steal it,  i. e. after you
  51.   have registered yourself, keep it on  a floppy  and  delete it from your
  52.   hard disk.  It is your registration license and are to be treated as any
  53.   other value 'paper'.

  56. 4.Background and features
  57.  
  58.   Awave was birthed some two years ago when I needed to extract some samples
  59.   from an Amiga tracker module and save them as Ultrasound .pat instruments.
  60.   I hacked up a small program called MOD2PAT to fill my needs.
  61.   As some programs tend to do, this one sone grew beyond bounds. More import
  62.   formats were continually added (and still are).  It was ported to Windows,
  63.   it got a steadily improving user interface.  The name was now something of
  64.   an understatement so I changed into 2PAT.  Now after three major rewrites,
  65.   and supporting almost 90 audio carrying file formats for import,as well as
  66.   most popular formats for export, and sporting several editing and playback
  67.   functions, the name was again changed into Awave.

  69.   Awave reads a host of audio carrying file formats from different platforms
  70.   synthesizers and trackers. It presents the instruments contained in a file
  71.   as a graphical hierarchy with the 'bank' item at the top,the 'instruments'
  72.   as branches and finally 'waveforms' as leaves.
  73.   If you have one of the  supported wavetable  synthesis sound cards you can
  74.   just click on an item, and directly play it on a midi keyboard (or you can
  75.   use the computer keyboard). If you just  have a basic soundcard capable of
  76.   digital audio playback, you can still play any item by using the  built in 
  77.   'Audio Player' feature. Standard MIDI SDS Dumps is also supported for down
  78.   loading waveforms to professional synthesizers.  
  79.   Saving  an item  to any  of the  supported  export formats,  is as easy as
  80.   double clicking on the item, selecting export type, and clicking OK.
  81.   There are  visual editors for most Instrument and waveform parameters like
  82.   loop points and keymaps.
  83.   There's also a simple commandline interface  which  enables you to use the
  84.   'AudioPlayer'  to play the sounds  in any of  the supported  file formats;
  85.   thus it is also ideal for use as a 'helper' for your WWW-browser!
  86.   If you are into any form of sampled audio on the Windows platform,  you'll
  87.   most likely find this program usefull!

  92.   Awave is Shareware. The distributed version has full functionality, except
  93.   for a few slightly annoying things. See the REGISTER.TXT file for details.

  106.   are using, as well as what soundcard(s) you have.  In addition to stating
  107.   the nature of the problem,  give a detailed  step-by-step account of what
  108.   you  did that led up to  the bug  and note all messages that you may have
