  11. I have put the cica.cica.indiana.edu MicroSoft Windows archive onto cdrom.
  12. It is made from a snapshot of the archive taken on the 7th of March, 1992.
  13. If you are the author of any file included in the archive at that time,
  14. I will send you a free disc.

  16. We are updating this disc quarterly and offer a subscription for
  17. $19.95 per issue.

  19. The disc conforms to the ISO-9660 standard, the most common and generic
  20. format, so it will work with almost any cdrom drive.

  67. Simtel MSDOS CDROM.  This disc contains about 660 MB of utilities,
  68. programming tools, source code, technical documentation, etc.  It includes
  69. the entire Simtel20 MSDOS Archive.  There is an index file in each
  70. directory, and a master index file in the top directory that describes each
  71. file.  The current edition of this disc was made in May 1993.  The next
  72. edition will be available in August 1993. This disc is available by
  73. quarterly subscription for $19.95 per issue plus appropriate shipping.  The
  74. single issue price is $24.95.

  76. CICA Microsoft Windows CDROM.  This disc contains 640 MB of
  77. Microsoft Windows programs.  It includes hundreds of utilities, games,
  78. fonts, bitmaps, etc.  All are written especially for Windows.  It includes
  79. the entire CICA Windows collection from Indiana University, both zipped
  80. (340 MB) and unzipped (300 MB).  This disc was produced in April 1993.
  81. This disc is available by quarterly subscription for $19.95 plus
  82. appropriate shipping.  The single price is $24.95.

  84. Hobbes OS/2 CDROM.  This disc contains the OS/2 archives from
  85. ftp-os2.cdrom.com.  There are over 3000 programs (650 MB).  Many of the same
  86. programs are also included as uncompressed files ready for executation right
  87. off the CDROM.  The files on this disc were downloaded in June 1993.  This
  88. disc is available by quarterly subscription for $19.95 plus appropriate
  89. shipping.  The single issue price is $24.95.

  91. Project Gutenberg CDROM.  The disc contains the etexts of Project Gutenberg
  92. for 1991, 1992 and Jan-Jul 1993.  The etexts on the disc include classic
  93. literature such as Aesop's Fables, Alice in Wonderland, Moby Dick, and
  94. Paradise Lost; Historical documents such as the Magna Carta, U.S. Declaration
  95. of Independence, U.S. Constitution, Inagural Addresses and many treaties;
  96. references such as Roget's Thesaurus, almanacs, census data, the CIA World
  97. Fact Book, and mathematical constants; religious documents such as the Bible,
  98. and the Book of Mormon.  This disc is available by semi-annual subscription
  99. for $24.95 plus appropriate shipping.  The single price is $39.95.
  100.  
  101. Libris Britannia CDROM.  This disc was made as a joint project with
  102. the Public Domain and Shareware Library of Sussex, England.  It contains
  103. over 600 MB of up to date and very well indexed software.  It is biased
  104. toward the technical and scientific PC user and includes extensive
  105. sections on electronics, engineering, mathematics, medicine, ham
  106. radio, and other specialist areas.  PDSL acts as librarian for the UK
  107. C User's Group, and the programming section includes the UK CUG volumes.
  108. The disc comes with a 124 page manual that contains capsule descriptions
  109. of about 100-250 words for each item, with information on version number,
  110. registration fee, and hardware required.  This disc was made in February
  111. 1993, and costs $69.95.

  113. QRZ! Ham Radio CDROM.  This disc contains the March 1993 US CALLSIGN
  114. DATABASE (in ASCII), PC (MS-DOS) compatible search and retrieval software,
  115. search by callsign, name, city, zip code, several output formats including
  116. screen, mailing lists, etc.  There are hundreds of popular ham related
  117. (shareware) programs and nearly 200 radio and scanner modifications.  Also
  118. included are USENET news articles from rec.ham-radio and
  119. rec.radio.amateur.{misc,packet,policy} since 1989.  Also provided are
  120. complete dumps of several internet ham radio archives, Canadian and US CLUB
  121. callsigns, FCC Rules and Regulations (Part 97), DX lists, DXCC info, BBS
  122. lists, UNIX callsign database/server 'C' source code, SIMTEL20 Ham Radio
  123. Archive files, and vast amounts of useful reading information for the
  124. beginning to the advanced ham enthusiast.  This disc was made in March
  125. 1993.  The price is $24.95.
  126.  
  127. Aminet Amiga CDROM.  This disc contains the Aminet Amiga Archive, the AB20
  128. Amiga archive, and comp.sources.amiga and comp.binaries.amiga.  There is a
  129. total of 650 megabytes of Amiga software.  This disc was made in June 1993.
  130. The disc Does work with the CDTV and is available by subscription for
  131. $19.95 per quarter.  The price is $24.95.
  132.  
  133. Info-Mac CDROM.  Over 10000 programs from Stanford University's SUMEX
  134. Archive, including desk accessories, games, virus-detection programs and
  135. commercial demos.  It is also jam-packed with graphics, sounds and
  136. Hypercard stacks.  For the more technically inclined, there are source code
  137. samples and entire program listings as well as technical documentation and
  138. discussions.  The programs on this CDROM are from Stanford University's
  139. Sumex-Aim Info-Mac Archive, one of the most complete and up-to-date
  140. collections of Macintosh software.  This disc is in HFS Mac format.  It was
  141. updated in April 1993.  The price is $39.95.
  142.  
  143. Desktop Bookshop CDROM.  This disc contains several thousand works of
  144. classic literature, historical documents, and technical information.  The
  145. complete works of Shakespeare, Chaucer, Virgil, Dante and Milton are on the
  146. disc, along with books by Mark Twain, Walt Whitman, Stephen Crane, Herman
  147. Melville, and Edgar Allan Poe.  The text of many treaties and international
  148. agreements, Supreme Court decisions, the 1991 CIA World Fact Book,
  149. dictionaries, thesauruses, and word lists.  There is a large collection of
  150. technical documents, including all the internet RFCs.  All the files are
  151. plain text ASCII, so this disc can be used on almost any system.  The price
  152. is $39.95.  [This disc is currently out of production.  We hope to begin
  153. shipping again toward the end of July, 1993.]
  154.  
  155. C Users' Group Library CDROM.  C source code from the C Users' Group.  Most
  156. code is for MSDOS, early volumes are CP/M, later UNIX.  Includes source
  157. code for editors, disassemblers, compilers, interpreters, communications,
  158. bbs', games, tutorials, libraries, etc.  Also all source code listings from
  159. the C Users' Journal.  Made in October 1992, the price is $49.95.
  160.  
  161. Source Code CDROM.  This disc contains the Usenet source archives, the
  162. Simtel20 Unix-C Archive, and a large collection of MSDOS source code.  There
  163. is a total of about 600 MB of source code.  It is mostly C, but also
  164. has some Pascal, Lisp, C++, Modula2, Fortran, Assembly, etc.  This disc was
  165. made in March 1992.  The price is $39.95.
  166.  
  167. X11R5 and GNU CDROM.  This disc contains all the X11R5 Window System sources,
  168. including all the contributed software, all the GNU source code, and sparc
  169. binaries and libraries for the Gnu programs and the X11R5 server and clients.
  170. The X11R5 sources are at patch level seventeen.  This disc is in Rock Ridge
  171. format, so full unix pathnames are visible on systems that support the
  172. RR extensions.  This CDROM was made in December 1992.  The price is $39.95.
  173.  
  174. Nova CDROM.  636 MB. of NeXT treasures await you on this CD.  The files run
  175. the gamut from utilities, fonts, sounds, graphics, text files to a large
  176. collection of NeXTSTEP games.  SoftPC applications are included.  Each
  177. subdirectory contains an index file with the file name, version, author,
  178. and description.  The entire disc is also indexed for use with Digital
  179. Librarian.  The disc is ISO-9660 and also includes the Rock Ridge
  180. extensions so you can see long file names.  January 1993; $39.95.
  181.  
  182. Linux Operating System CDROM.  This disc contains the Beta release of
  183. Linux, a Unix-Like operating system.  It contains a complete system, ready
  184. to run, including the kernel, all the GNU utilities, and the X11R5 window
  185. system.  All the source code for the Linux kernel is included.  This CDROM
  186. was made by Adam Richter of Yggdrasil Computing.  The production release
  187. will be available in July (?).  The price for the Beta Release is $60.  The
  188. price for both the Beta and the production release is $99.
  189.  
  190. Sprite CDROM.  This disc contains the source code and documentation for the
  191. Sprite Network Operating System.  Sprite was a research operating system
  192. developed at the University of California, Berkeley.  All the reseach
  193. papers from the Sprite project are also included on the disc.  This
  194. software on this disc is primarily intended for research purposes, and is
  195. not really intended to be used as a production system.  Boot images are
  196. provided for Sun SparcStations and DECStations.  The cost is $24.95.
  197.  
  198. Ada CDROM.  560+ MB of documentation, information, and source code.
  199. With more than 5000 files, this disc is an indispensible resource for any
  200. Ada programmer.  Imagine the convienience of refering to the disc for all
  201. the Ada language reference manuals, a complete set of Ada language issue
  202. comments, PC and Mac Ada/ED compilers, benchmarks, validation suites,
  203. courseware, Ada programming tools, and prodigious amounts of source code.
  204. Made in June 1993, the disc costs $39.95.

  206. Garbo MSDOS/MAC CDROM.  This disc contains the Garbo archive from Vaasa
  207. University in Finland.  It contains almost 400 MB of software.  About
  208. 250 MB is for MSDOS, and about 150 MB is for Macintoshes.  The price is
  209. $24.95.

  211. The CICA MS Windows, Simtel MSDOS, Aminet, and Hobbes OS/2 discs are
  212. available by subscription.  We update these discs quarterly.  When we have
  213. a new version we ship them to our subscribers.  We bill your credit card
