  1. ENDURO RACER

  3. GAME INSTRUCTIONS
  4. Once the game has loaded press any key to display the menu screen.
  5.  
  6. START GAME
  7. ONE PLAYER
  8. CHANGE CONTROL MODE
  9. DEFINE KEYS
  10.  
  11. These will let you set up the game to suit you. One of the will be lit
  12. up, you can change the  choice  that  is  lit  up  by pressing any key
  13. (except the SPACE key).
  14.  
  15. To select one of these choices you  should press the SPACE key or FIRE
  16. button.
  17.  
  18. START GAME
  19. If this is lit up and you press SPACE then the game will start. If you
  20. are using a joystick then press the FIRE button.
  21.  
  22. ONE PLAYER
  23. If you press the  SPACE  BAR  when  this  is  lit  then it will change
  24. between ONE and TWO player mode. If  you are playing a two player game
  25. then '1 UP' will appear in the bottom right of the screen while player
  26. 1 is playing, '2 UP' will appear in the bottom right while player 2 is
  27. playing. Control will switch between players  when one of them crashes
  28. or when their time runs out.

  30. CHANGE CONTROL MODE
  31. This allows you to select different joysticks or the computer keyboard
  32. to control the bike. If you press the SPACE BAR with this lit you will
  33. get the following list:

  35. KEYBOARD
  36. KEMPSTON
  37. SINCLAIR LEFT
  38. SINCLAIR RIGHT
  39. CURSOR
  40.  
  41. Kempston, Sinclair Left, Sinclair Right  or  Cursor may be selected if
  42. you are using a joystick.  You  may  select  the one that matches your
  43. joystick by pressing any key to  move  through  the list and the SPACE
  44. key to select one of the options.

  46. DEFINE KEYS
  47. This option allows you to choose  different keys to control your bike.
  48. The preset controls are given below.

  77. SCREEN DISPLAY
  78. The top of the screen looks something like this:

  83. TOP gives the top score.
  84. TIME gives the time you have left (in seconds) to complete the current
  85. stage.
  86. STAGE tells you which of the five stages you are on.
  87. SPEED gives your speed in kilometres per hour.
  88.  
  89. HINTS AND TIPS
  90. Avoid other riders, jeeps, rocks, trees, water etc.
  91. Remain on the road (in stage  three  there  is water to either side of
  92. the road) in order to maintain maximum speed.
  93. When you go over bumps you will  lose  speed unless you pull a wheelie
  94. before reaching the jump. You  may  also  go  around  the sides of the
  95. jumps, though this may slow you down.
  96. There are 5 stages taking you through 5 different landscapes.

  98. END OF GAME AND HIGH SCORE
  99. At the end of a game the following will appear on the screen:

  111. In the RECORD column the number of  the stage is given followed by the
  112. fastest time for that stage.
  113.  
  114. In the PLAYER column your  times  for  the  stages  are given. For the
  115. final that you were unable to  complete  a percentage is given showing
  116. how far you got through that stage.
  117.  
  118. If you get onto the High Score  Table  then  you will be able to enter
  119. your name by using the keyboard  or  joystick. You may move the cursor
  120. up, down, left and right using the following controls:
  121.  
  122.  UP        THROTTLE
  123.  DOWN      WHEELIE
  124.  LEFT      LEFT
  125.  RIGHT     RIGHT
  126.  
  127. Fire or SPACE will select the letter that is currently highlighted.
  128.  
  129. Select E/D when you have finished entering your name.
  130.
