  8. Remember a few years ago ? 
  9. Remember the raves with the pumping bass, the volume at it's best, the 
  10. atmosphere kicking, the people friendly and free ! 
  11. But then the police had to put their oar in, the government than have
  12. their say, "Turn down the music, noise pollution". What a load of
  13. bollocks. If you've been to the latest raves then you'll know the score.
  14. What's going on ? You pay between 15-25 quid, queue up for about 45
  15. minutes whilst having to put up with the old bill eyeing you up and down
  16. as if you're some kind of mass murderer. And once you've been searched
  17. and had your shoes and socks removed, you then walk into the grounds to
  18. be met by thousands of police and the music at about 2 D.B.'s, you might
  19. as well have bought your walkman.

  21. At every large rave lately the department of health and environment are 
  22. there with their precious little toys called D.B. meters making sure that
  23. the volume doesn't go above a certain level. For example, if you went to
  24. Universe on 13/06/93, Resurrection on 14/08/93 or Living Dream 06/08/93
  25. then you know what we mean.

  27. All we can do is apologise to you all for the very bad sound quality,
  28. but what can we do ? You can't blame the promoters because they are doing
  29. an excellent job of bringing you the very best quality sound system
  30. (even though you don't get to hear it at it's best) excellent lighting,
  31. D.J's. You can't fault them. If they did try to turn up the volume then
  32. the authorities have two methods of getting them to turn it down - 
  33.  
  34.  1, They can revoke the licence and close down the party and then ban
  35. any further events by the offending organisation.
  36.  2, Impose ridiculous fines which could be in excess of 25,000 quid and
  37. revoke any future licences.

  39. Now you know ehy these events are becoming more and more of an effort to
  40. go to, and why they're so quiet when you do. So there's no one left to 
  41. blame but the authorities. Bollocks to the authorities, you can't stop
  42. us. We're gonna keep the dance scene strong even if the world isn't.
  43. This is your day and no one can take it away from you.
