  5.    For  all  the demo  worshippers out
  6. there, here is the  demo review  page.
  7. This is where demos released since the
  8. last  issue of  the mag will be looked
  9. at and  if worthy  they will  be rated
  10. and possibly included on the disk.
  11.   This page is being done by Nosah coz
  12. Frapp and myself didn't agree fully on
  13. certain  aspects.  I hope there are no
  14. hard feelings  Frapp.  Let's kick  off
  15. then with the demos which have climbed
  16. to the top this time.

  18. FOLLOW ME - RED SECTOR
  19. ----------------------
  20. Dave-I know that this demo is actually
  21. a bit dated  now, but it  was  release
  22. after issue 1 of S.D. So I've included
  23. it here.I would rate it most certainly
  24. as  one  of the  best  demos  released
  25. since issue 1. It is up to  Red Sector
  26. standards
  27.     The  graphics used in the demo are
  28. superb,  and  the  skeleton  which  is
  29. beckoning to you out of the screen  is
  30. quite stunning.Occasionaly an animated
  31.  
  32.  
  33.  
  34.  
  35. aircraft will fly from the  horizon to
  36. the front of the screen accompanied by
  37. appropriate sound  effects. There is a
  38. large RS logo at the top of the screen
  39. which can be toggled out to reveal the
  40. obligatory scroll text.
  41.     One of the major points about this
  42. demo is the  music composed  by  Romeo
  43. Knight,  it's  brilliant   and    very
  44. atmospheric. Check this demo out, it's
  45. on the disk.

  47. Kreator - I'm only going  to say a few
  48. words here.  The demo is in fact based
  49. on the  album cover  'Peace Sells  ...
  50. But Who's  Buying' by  Megadeth, right
  51. down to the logo style.As Megadeth are
  52. one of my fave bands,full marks there.
  53. Coding  wise  the  demo is  relatively
  54. simple, but  the combination  of great
  55. graphics  and  impressive  sonics from
  56. Romeo  Knight make  this a  demo worth
  57. watching.

  61. VECTORS 1990 - REBELS
  62. ---------------------
  63. Dave - First of all I think it is only
  64. right  to  say   that  the  similarity
  65. between this  demo and SEVEN SINS from
  66. Scoopex Finland is very noticable.Even
  67. the music is similar. However, I still
  68. have to say that it is a  worthy piece
  69. of work,  with some improvements  made
  70. over the demo it is emulating.There is
  71. outstanding use of bobs  and  vectors,
  72. including a really nice screen of bobs
  73. which  make up  a solar  system,  very
  74. colourful too.All displays are imposed
  75. over  the  all too often  present star
  76. field,  with  the  screen  size  being
  77. reduced  slightly  by the introduction
  78. of two grey colour bars. In this demo,
  79. the  Bobs/Vectors are not faded out as
  80. they change,  instead a nice touch has
  81. been added  where the lower colour bar
  82. moves up to  wipe the screen clear and
  83. then lowers to reveal the next routine
  84. ..Nice.  The music isn't too great but
  85. it's a good demo.
  86.  
  87. Kreator -The bobs in this demo all run
  88. on  a full  32  colour  screen,  which
  89. deserves   some   commendation.   This
  90. results  in  some  very  good  looking
  91. objects. Another point in their favour
  92. is the complete absence of a scroller,
  93. and  the most  suprising fact  of all,
  94. this demo is just over 70 k in length!
  95. I agree entirely with Dave's selection
  96. of this demo.

  98. THE ROOM - FAIRLIGHT
  99. --------------------
  100. Dave - Quite a novel demo I thought. A
  101. great tune is  playng while  you watch
  102. some raytracing done in  the centre of
  103. the screen (The Room) above  and below
  104. this is an  unusual "ripple" effect. I
  105. don't know what it is, I just like it.

  107. Kreator  -  Great   demo   to   watch,
  108. interesting use of sprites(I think!)to
  109. create a solid 3D cube bouncing  round
  110. the room, well done Celebrandil !
  111.  
  112.    Well there have been quite a number
  113. of demos  released  recently, here are
  114. some of them ....
  115.   Megademo-Predators>>Some great parts
  116. in  this  demo from  New Zealand, well
  117. worth  checking out  if  only  for the
  118. music (2 Disks ).....Megademo-Vision>>
  119. This is yet another megademo from them
  120. but some good grafix from a new member
  121. .....  Partytime-Slipstream   >>  It's
  122. basically a number of  digitised  pics
  123. from the Bournemouth  party which  are
  124. displayed progressively,there are bobs
  125. and logos displayed over the pics, but
  126. they appear only as shadows,which adds
  127. to the effect of the pics which are in
  128. B/W.  Coded  by  Andi  (Nice one).....
  129. Landscape-Mode D >>An unusual one this
  130. it is displaying ( in framework form )
  131. a  landscape  which  is   continuously
  132. changing   shape  and rotating , great
  133. music.....Rebellion-Network >>What can
  134. I say,  some of the best music I  have
  135. ever  heard  on  the AMIGA,  all coded
  136. by 4MAT. Don't expect to see any great
  137. artwork  coz there are no grafix...Hit
  138. the   Road-Flash  Prodution   ( its  a
  139. megademo),  This one  was made for the
  140. Upfront party  in Denmark, It contains
  141. some  excellent music  and artwork and
  142. is a real team effort with all members
  143. of   the   group   contributing.......
  144. Vectorstuff-IT >> Another one produced
  145. for  the  Upfront  party,   this  demo
  146. contains an absolutely fantastic  tune
  147. and  some  really  good vector  stuff,
  148. from  Norways best !!.... VectorBalls-
  149. Arcadia  >>  A powerful  tune and some
  150. nice  multicoloured  balls  moving and
  151. rotating....
  152.
