Adrift Screensaver is a 32-bit Windows 95/98/NT screensaver which
draws floating lines across the screen,
creating beautiful patterns while you are not using your
computer.
Recommended minimum: 486 CPU, 256 colors.
General
The settings screens have some sliders which you may use to control the types of drawings Adrift does.
| Speed | The further the slider is to the right, the slower the shapes will be drawn. |

Use these to control how long the lines are drawn before a new sequence is started. |
| How many colors to use | If you prefer only a few colors to be used at a time, then have the slider towards the left. |
| How often to clear the screen | If you prefer the screen to be cleared more often before starting a new pattern, then have the slider towards the right. |
| How often to use shapes | Adrift sometimes draws triangles, squares & pentagons. This slider controls how often these shapes are used. |
| How often to use curves | How often curved lines are drawn, rather than straight lines. |
Animation
When running in 256 color mode, Adrift animates the color, giving a sliding, hypnotic effect. The slider controls how often animation is used. If chosen, then animation is used for the entire run. If your computer's display is set to High Color or True color mode (16 or 24-bit color), then normally color animation is not possible, as those modes do not support it. However, if you have the Microsoft DirectX drivers installed on your machine, then Adrift can use them to temporarily shift your machine to 256 color mode, and back again at the end of the run. If you don't want this to happen, then turn animation off by sliding the control all the way to the left.
If you do not have DirectX installed, then your can download the DirectX End User Software from the Microsoft DirectX web site. The download is about 5.5 Meg.
Adrift only uses DirectX if running under Windows 95, not under Windows NT.
Adrift Screensaver is time-limited "try before you buy" software, and is provided with a 14-day evaluation period. After 14 days, Adrift will no longer run the screensaver, but will display an order form. Occasionally while it is running, Adrift displays a message showing how many days to expiry there is.
On receipt of your registration fee, you will be emailed, faxed or mailed a code which will remove these messages, along with instructions on how to enter the code.
Your support through registration is appreciated and will encourage the development of additional features.
If you wish to use Adrift after 14 days, please send a payment of US$18.95.

PsL will notify us the day of your order and we will send a registration code directly to you. For fastest registration, be sure to give your email address to PsL. Second fastest is to give them your fax number. Otherwise we will air mail you a registration code from Australia, which can take a couple of weeks.
Sometimes there is a typing error in the email address or fax number we are sent, so if you have not received your code within 2 working days, please contact Seraline directly, either by email to info@seraline.com or by fax to +61-2-9879-4481.
Credit card payments may also be made directly to Seraline, using VISA, Mastercard, or Australian Bankcard. A printable order form in WordPad format is in the file order.doc, which can then be faxed or mailed to Seraline. An order form can also be printed from the Control Panel Setup screen. The details required are your name as shown on the card, credit card type, card number, card expiry date and your signature. These details can be mailed, or faxed to Seraline in Australia +61-2-9879-4481.
When ordering directly from Seraline, credit cards are billed at exactly $23.95 Australian. For other currencies, the amount appearing on your card will depend on the foreign exchange rate at the time. For example, at rates current in June 1997, this converts to an amount varying around US$18.95.

In order to keep the cost of Adrift low, diskettes are not sent.

If you have already paid a fee to others (eg disk or CD vendors) to obtain this evaluation copy, that fee was for their copying and distribution services, rather than a payment for continued use of the program, and the software author does not receive any part of that fee.
Adrift Screensaver is NOT a public domain program. It is copyrighted by Seraline Pty Ltd. This software and accompanying documentation are protected by Australian copyright law and also by international treaty provisions.
The registration fee will license Adrift Screensaver for use on any computers in your home, and on one computer at work on which you are the main user.
Seraline Pty Ltd grants you a limited license to use this software for evaluation purposes for a period not to exceed fourteen days. If you wish to use this software after the fourteen-day evaluation period, you MUST make a registration payment to Seraline Pty Ltd.
You may not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed program except as provided in this agreement. Any such unauthorized use shall result in immediate and automatic termination of this license.

Seraline Pty Ltd may revoke any permissions granted here, by notifying you in writing. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved to Seraline Pty Ltd.

If you used a full Adrift Setup procedure to install, then you will be able to uninstall Adrift by using Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs.
Otherwise, delete the file Adrift2.scr from your Windows\System folder. You can find the file using Windows Explorer.
