Using fills

When you're using the vector editor toolkit, there are a number of extra fill tools. You can use these to fill (i.e. to paint) any path; this is especially useful to create a shape for use as a matte.

Filling paths

To fill path(s):

  1. Select the path(s); see Selecting knots, segments and paths.
  1. Set the fill color in the Color Chooser panel (see Choosing colors).
  1. Click on the Fill tool; the selected paths are filled.

Selecting fills

Once you've filled a path, you can select the fill, and use the Fill Properties window to view and edit it.

To select the fill, choose the Select Fill tool, and click on the path holding the fill.

Changing fill colors

To change a fill color:

  1. Select the fill; see Selecting fills above.
  1. Ensure the Properties window is displayed; if it is not, choose View > Properties.
  1. Set the fill color in the Color Chooser panel (see Choosing colors).
  1. Drag the color to the color well in the Properties window.

Alternatively, you can just fill the path again; see Filling paths above.
