Starting a color correction

You start a color correction in different ways, depending on what you want to do:

The controls you use are identical. This chapter uses a background as an example, but the methods we describe work exactly the same way for a palette.

Loading a palette for color correction

To load a palette for color correction:

  1. Run the InkPaint application (see Starting InkPaint).
  1. Open the color model containing the palette (see Opening a color reference model).
  1. In InkPaint's Browser window, choose the palette from the list of Palettes.
  1. If necessary, make a copy of the original palette (see Creating additional palettes).
If you don't do this, the color corrected palette will replace the original palette (which will no longer be available).
  1. Then select the color(s) that you wish to correct from the palette (see Copying colors by dragging):
  1. Choose Palettes > Color Correct Palette.
  1. The Color Corrector window appears:

The changes you make with this control panel appear in InkPaint's windows. You can easily step back through the corrections you make to a palette - just choose Undo and Redo from InkPaint's Edit menu.
