Adjusting the Trace Layer values


When you adjust the Trace Layer values, you're altering how the scanned bitmap in the Trace Layer is displayed and output. You are aiming:

Examine any areas which includes a lot of 'dirt' in the scan - that is, gray coloration which is not a line.
This is most likely to be a problem where the scanned lines are light, as these have the minimum tonal range.

[1] Note that most dirt and blemishes should already have been removed when scanning, using image thresholding. If your drawings have many blemishes, it's worth checking to see if this is set up correctly. For more information, refer to Setting a level for image thresholding.
