GEM's New Web address: http://gem.crest.org/
The Global Energy Marketplace (GEM), operated by CREST and
sponsored by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, is
an information service designed for businesses around the world
involved in sustainable energy services. GEM provides a
one-stop-shop for country and market profiles, online experts,
funding sources, contacts, and links to online resources.
GEM saves you time and money looking for sites on the Internet. Unlike other information services or search engines, GEM reviews each site it links to and provides a summary of each link, saving you time and effort. GEM focuses ONLY on renewable energy and energy efficiency, so searches on GEM quickly find the information you are looking for without wading through every site on the Internet.
Currently GEM has over 2000 links to resources in 150 different countries. Because GEM adds hundreds of new resources each month, CREST is establishing GEM User News to keep regular users up to date on new resources. To subscribe to GEM User News, send email to gemkeeper@crest.org. The next issue will be sent electronically in April 1997.
ReInState: New GEM Service for USA
A new service offered by GEM is the ReInState project. ReInState is an innovative Internet-based information tool designed to assist state and local governments, businesses, communities, educational institutions, and citizens in swiftly and powerfully searching and retrieving case studies, success stories, product and service databases, email directories, software programs, and more.
By clicking on a state, the user can access state-specific energy information without having to search hundreds of sites online. GEM links them all conveniently in one site, saving the user valuable time online.
