WHAT IS AN ERECTION?

An erection happens when the penis, which is usually (flaccid) gets hard and points away from the body.

After a boy reaches puberty, erections are often caused by sexual excitement.

When a man has an orgasm the erection softens or goes down. It is normal for an erection to go down by itself after orgasm.
