Wild and Free wants to help you spice up your games of slap and tickle. While you won't find hard-core items such as violet wands at Wild and Free, you will find plenty of fetish wear in a variety of materials, along with numerous sex toys, including whips, nipple clamps, and various restraints. The store carries more mainstream items as well, such as Dr. Martens footwear, flight jackets, and body jewelry. Prices are reasonable-$110 for eight-hole Docs, $30 for a leather paddle-but you should phone or mail your order since the site's server is not secure. A liberal return policy applies to all items except sex toys (thank goodness for that stipulation). - Mike Hase
Having peddled flowers in a London suburb since 1926, August Florist now pushes petals online. Its Web site allows secure, online ordering with worldwide delivery via Interflora. Only five items are displayed at the Web site, although you can order anything by requesting the information via e-mail. Prices are steep. A rose in a box will set you back $25-$34, while a red-rose bouquet costs $58-$84, depending on the destination. Given the ease of ringing your neighborhood florist and getting a better deal, I can't imagine why you'd want to order from August Florist. Nevertheless, the site is worth a visit for the monthly gardening articles and question form. - Mike Hase
Professional armorer Christian Fletcher manufactures medieval armor, weapons, and clothes. Each item is made to order and customers can return the item for full store credit within 30 days of purchase. Fletcher's site shows what he makes and contains links to related spots on the Web, but you'll have to mail in a check/money order or e-mail your Visa/Mastercard number to receive your item (half up front, half upon completion). Apparently, Mr. Fletcher has earned a good reputation with the Society for Creative Anachronism and other people who dig swords. As of this writing, he has a backlog on orders a few months long. - Mike Hase
Fabric8, an online boutique featuring goods from independent San Francisco designers, offers clothes and jewelry ranging from the traditional to the offbeat. Wandering through the boutique, you can visit Jigowat for unusual accessories, enter the House of Gallo for some gender-bending styles, or check out Sui Generis for traditional, high-quality outerwear. The site includes a Java-based fitting room to assist in taking your measurements, and all ordering is done by credit card through an extremely secure server (the squeamish may phone or fax). Special orders may also be placed, and the prices are what you'd expect for serious clothes. - Mike Hase
Named after super-cute pooches Dottie, Sarah, and Gracie, Three Dog Bakery serves up all-natural, made-from-scratch, allegedly tasty treats for your dog. Three Dog's online "DOGalog" contains 16 bakery fresh items including Ciao Wow Pizzas, Carob Dipped Rollovers, and Gracie's Great Danishes. This place made me hungry. The high quality of the ingredients is reflected in the higherthan average prices-$12.50 for a 3 lb. Bag of biscuits, $16 for apersonalized 7" apple cinnamon cake, and so on. Shipping costs run between10%-20% of your order, and purchasing is done by credit card through a secureserver. A portion of the proceeds goes to help abused animals. - Mike Hase
