Uninstalling Software: |
Uninstalling installed software is yet another important feature in the smooth running of your system. Like Newton’s Law suggests ‘Everything that goes up must come down’ likewise ‘Every software that is Installed must be Uninstalled properly’. Whenever software is installed it makes entries in the Windows Registry (which is dangerous to mess around with). Normal deletion of these programs leaves traces in the registry, which is dangerous to your system. So once you have installed software be sure to uninstall it rather than deleting it. You can use the standard Uninstall option that Windows 95
offers. |

Solution to common problems: |
I insert my CD into the drive and nothing happens? First of all ensure that the CD is inserted in the right manner
with the data surface (silver portion) facing downwards. If the problem
persists, check if the autorun function is enabled. To do so go to the
Control Panel by double clicking on My Computer icon. Double-click
on the System icon and select the Device Manager
tab. Now highlight the CD-ROM option and click on the Properties
button. Once you have done that click on the Settings tab
and ensure whether the Auto insert notification box is checked.
If it isn’t check it right away and click OK to end the process.
You may have to restart your computer for the effects to take place. If
the problem still continues try running index.htm from Windows
Explorer. This could be a memory problem. Please upgrade your CPU/RAM
to meet the necessary criterion. Try closing all applications before running
the CD. Also note that this problem can be avoided if you use Video for
Windows to play movies/sound. Most of the Games that we have included in the CD require
Direct X (3.0 or upwards) – drivers to play games with high resolution
(included in the CD), so before installing any games ensure that you have
installed Direct X drivers on your PC. Please follow the instruction given
when you load these drivers, as incorrectly installed drivers may not
run the games as desired. Many of the Programs included in the CD consist of a self-executable
file name. Double clicking on this file allows you to extract the files
needed to install the required program. By default the files are extracted
in C:\windows\temp directory. You can also
specify the directory in which you want to extract the files. Once specified
you can run the setup program for that particular application. Once you
have installed the required software make sure that you delete all the
files present in the temp folder before installing another software. |
