T
he Assistant Palette has been specifically designed to give you additional information and to guide you through your first projects with Amapi 3D. It will help you get acquainted with the software quickly. Once you are more familiar with Amapi, you can turn off the Assistant Palette, which will give you a larger working space. (See chapter User Manual/Edit/Preferences/Interface/Assistant Palette.)
The Assistant Palette is displayed at the top of the screen. It is divided into different parts.
1. The online help informs you and guides you through any modeling step.
2. The command button icons allow you to validate an action, quit an action at any time, undo an action, or redo an action.
3. The selection tools are used to select groups of objects, points, and groups of points or facets.
4. The Reference Point tool allows you to set the reference point, for example, the center of rotation.
5. A set of three icon buttons define position and motion constraints for the cursor.
6. A “+/-” Tuner allows you to control at any time the precision of an action, number of points, axes step size, definition of values, etc. or the range of action of a tool.
7. The last area is dedicated to the display of the different modes available for the current tool.
