Client Side

FTP clients

FTP is used to transport files from one host to another. FTP servers may have public areas where anonymous logins are accepted, or they may be restricted on user name and password. It's a fast way to get information or new software if you know where to look.

Chat clients

Chat clients help you to communicate in real time with friends, colleagues and people you've never even met before from all over the world. You can chat using text, voice and live video and also share files, pictures and sounds and even play games.

Telnet

Telnet applications allow terminal connection to a remote computer. They are used for remotely running applications on another system for purposes such as checking mail or using a database or MUD.

Ping & Analysis tools

Ping programs are a very simple method of detecting whether a host machine is responding and at what speed.
