The Lahey/Fujitsu .NET Fortran compiler will be integrated with Microsoft's
Visual Studio .NET IDE. Fortran.NET will offer several new Fortran 2000
and other object-oriented language features. The product will allow
programmers, scientists, and engineers interoperability with XML Web
services, ASP.NET, and all other .NET programming languages including
Microsoft C#.NET, Visual Basic.NET, and Visual C++.NET.

The Glasgow Haskell Compiler is a robust, fully-featured, optimising
compiler for Haskell 98. GHC compiles Haskell to either native code
or C. The GHC compiler for .NET is currently under development at Microsoft
Research, Cambridge, and will come with a similar range of functionality.
GHC implements numerous experimental language extensions to Haskell
98; for example: concurrency, a foreign language interface, multi-parameter
type classes, scoped type variables, existential and universal quantification,
unboxed types, exceptions, and weak pointers.

Interoperability
JNBridgePro is a Java/.NET interoperability tool that enables Java code
to fully participate in the cross-language capabilities of .NET while
maintaining the investment in “legacy” Java code, third-party Java libraries,

via inheritance by .NET classes, and enables .NET code to seamlessly

the problems of large-scale program development, allowing modularity,

Mondrian is a functional language specifically designed for interoperating
in OO environments. It is a small language while still providing the
powerful features of function languages such as non-strict evaluation
and higher-order functions. Mondrian interworks with other .NET languages
so that the benefits of the different languages styles can easily be
combined.
- Oberon
Lightning Oberon is the newest member of the Pascal family of programming
languages developed at ETH Zurich. Specifically aiming at interoperability
on the .NET platform, Lightning Oberon supports a novel and pervasive
computing model that is based on the metaphor of active objects communicating
via interfaces. Thanks to its compact size, a well-readable syntax in
the tradition of Pascal, and a simple but powerful module concept, Lightning
Oberon is also perfectly suitable for teaching algorithms, data structures,
and modular programming.

FTN95 for .NET
FTN95 for .NET is a full Fortran 95 compiler capable of generating .NET
Framework managed code. It is usable in either mode. Incorporated CHECKMATE
technology enables a wide range of runtime checks while code is under
development. FTN95 for .NET is integrated with Visual Studio.NET IDE
and debugger interfaces. The compiler generated code interoperable with
other CLS languages such as C#.

abstractions. Scheme is popularly used as a teaching language, a scripting

object model is based on the 4th generation of the AOS (Agents Object
