About Windows XP

First we will talk about what Windows XP actually is. Windows XP is an operating system. Any computer needs an operating system in order to help us do our work. This type of software contains instructions necessary for hardware resources, and it also provides us with an interface that we use to control our computer. Usually an operating system also contains many other utilities and programs.

Windows is the operating system for IBM PC’s. First released in 1985, Windows has evolved more and more. The first operating system for IBM PC’s was MS DOS (Microsoft Disk Operating System). It was very difficult to use. The users had to remember some specific commands and write them on a black screen. That’s why Windows was created: to provide the user with an easy to use interface, using windows and buttons rather than text. The software’s evolution always demanded stronger and more evolved computers, thus making all computer technology evolve.

If past versions of Windows seemed hard to use, Windows XP is really easy to use! Before, at Windows 98, whenever you installed new software or you plugged in a new device, you had to reboot you system. But Windows XP automatically recognizes scanners, cameras, and other lug and play devices that you would use. Plus, you do not have to reboot any time you install new software!

Windows XP also provides a new fresh and stream line design witch is more pleasant and relaxing for the eye. It also has drivers for the most common hardware resources, so you do not need to install all the drivers your self after installation. It also includes some really neat utilities and better system management features. Internet, networks and other connections will work better on a Windows XP system!
