Microsoft® dbWeb is a gateway between Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) data sources and Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS). You can use Microsoft dbWeb to publish data from an ODBC data source on the World Wide Web (WWW) or on your internal network without specialized client software.
With dbWeb, you create a schema that contains the specification for your data and the Web pages. Microsoft dbWeb then produces fully functional Web pages for retrieving and displaying your data. DbWeb supports real-time database queries based on a "client-pull" model, formulating dynamic Web pages as users query your data source over the Internet. Visitors to your Web site can use familiar hypertext-style navigation via standard Web browsers to find information with little or no training.
Using dbWeb, you can publish information from the following client/server and desktop databases: Microsoft SQL Server™, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual FoxPro™, ORACLE®, and other databases that support 32-bit ODBC.
