The Washington State Nature Conservancy Project

The Washington State chapter of the Nature Conservancy has been working with Microsoft and with two Seattle-based firms (Tim Girvin Design and Metabridge) for several months to design and build a state-of-the-art Web site that will help drive the charter of their organization. The goals of this site include driving funding and volunteer efforts for the Nature Conservancy, encouraging participation in environmental activities, and educating visitors of all ages on the importance of biodiversity and our responsibilities to our environment.

Not only is the Web site a great place to learn about wildlife preserves in Washington State, it is also completely designed, built, and activated with Microsoft® Internet products and technologies. The Microsoft World Wide Live: Activating the Internet broadcast on July 16th features the Nature Conservancy Web site in an all-day program of discussions on creating a cutting-edge Web site for the Internet. We've also included a snapshot of the site on this CD.

After July 16th, this area of the Site Builder Workshop will contain white papers and sample code that will fully document the solutions used to build the Nature Conservancy Web site. You can look forward to seeing details on topics and technologies such as the following:

We hope that you'll check back with us on July 16th as we begin publishing this information.
