Setting Up the TCP/IP Control Panel

This is a guide to setting up the TCP/IP Control Panel for connecting to Madasafish.
The PPP Control Panel is a component of Open Transport which can be found on the madasafish CD and is installed as default with MacOS 7.5.5 and higher.

To start go to the Apple Menu (top left of screen), select Control Panels then TCP/IP. You should see the screen below.

Select Connect Via: PPP and Configure: Using PPP Server.

If you are unable to change any settings, it is likely that they have been locked.
To check, select Edit then User Mode.

The Administration mode should be selected.

Back in the TCP/IP Control Panel, you can unlock any settings by making the padlock symbol look unlocked.

If you are finding that PPP tries to dial out as soon as your Macintosh has finished starting up, or that it will not connect at all, select the Options button inside TCP/IP and ensure TCP/IP is Active and loads only when needed.
