Scrolling Text
It is possible to make text scroll across the page. This is known as the marquee effect and is only available on Internet Explorer, not Netscape. Using the Marquee Wizard, accessible from the Insert | Scrolling Text menu item, you can easily make a section of text scroll whichever way you choose. You can either type in the text you want to scoll before, select it and then open the wizard, or you can type in the text into the wizard. Using the two option buttons in the wizard you can select which orientation scrolling you want (horizontal or vertical), and which direction you want the text to scroll in this plane. Beneath this, you can enter the speed of the text in pixels per second, and the number of times the text will loop round. If you want the text to carry on scolling indefinately, enter -1.
The scrolling text scrolls within a box. You can set the margins of this box within the text will scroll, the background colour, size and position of the box. When yu have set up all the options, click on Finish to insert the effect.
If you are using Internet Explorer 4, you should be able to see a demonstration of this effect below. If not, you will just see the stationary text.

As you can see from this example, you can put any tags inside a marquee effect as you can in normal text, including font formatting, links etc.
