Spell Checking Documents - Customizing the Spell Checker

> Edit Menu - Preferences - Spelling

There are many ways in which you may customize the spell checker to your satisfaction, such as ignoring HTML tags and words with numbers. The easiest way is to open the "Preferences" window and choosing "Spelling" from the list.

Ignore HTML and XML Tags
Select this option to prevent tags from being checked (recommended).

Ignore Internet Addresses
Prevents the spell check engine from reporting addresses like http://www.softlite.net and so on.

Ignore All Uppercase
Set this to prevent the spell checker from highlighting words in uppercase, something which is quite common in HTML and XML documents.

Ignore Abbreviations
By default, the dictionary does not contain any abbreviations, such as degrees (eg. MSc etc.) or stock market ticker symbols, which will be ignored by the spell check if this option is set to true.

Ignore Quoted Lines
This option may be used to prevent quote material from being checked by the spell checker, particularly if you are quoting in another language.

Ignore Words Containing Numbers
Ignore any words which contain numeric entities.

Suggest from Main Dictionaries
Only Choose this option if you believe your personal dictionary may not have all the words you have in the main dictionary.

Prompt on Repeated
If you've accidentally repeated a word, you will be prompted when the spell checker encounters such an error.
