Setting Speech Properties
> Preferences Dialog: Speech

To activate speech recognition for dictation purposes, check the box labelled "Enable Speech Recognition".

To activate text-to-speech features, check the box labelled "Enable Text to Speech".

You will need a close talk microphone, available separately (or recommend retailers on our web site), to use speech recognition. Installation of the microphone can be achieved in a few steps:

• Insert the microphone plug into the "Microphone" socket on your sound card.
• (Optional): Plug the speaker jack into the "Audio Out" socket on your sound card.
• Use the "Speech" dialog in the Windows Control Panel to adjust the microphone settings or to train the microphone.
