1x02

To navigate through the WWW you need URL. To get addresses several search engines are available. Here are four tips that should make searching the Web a lot easier.

Know what you're looking for. This may sound obvious, but make sure for example, you know what animal, vegetable or mineral you want to find.

Fine-tune those keywords. Be specific and use the and/or operator to add information to maximize the effect. Also use the not operator to exclude documents.

Use Capitals. This is essential for finding peoples' names. Many search engines automatically recognise a name if you use capitals for the first letter of each name.

Query by Example. Take advantage of the Query by Example option offered by many search engines. Usually this option will pop up once you've typed in your initial search criteria.
