Microsoft Outlook Configuration |
This configuration sheet describes the setup of Microsoft Outlook on its initial startup after installation. The settings described and method of accessing the configuration is exactly the same with an already installed Microsoft Outlook program.You should have your TPG Internet Invoice or Voucher with you, which has your username & password, as well as other Setup Configuration details you will require.
To setup up your e-mail open Microsoft Outlook from Programs or the icon on the desktop. When you open Microsoft Outlook for the first time you will get a welcome message screen. Choose Set up an e-mail service, then follow these steps.
Step 1: Setting Up
- Select Tools from the menu options at the top of your screen then select
Services.
- You must have Internet Mail installed in this window. If you do not find Internet Mail listed under Services then you will have to add it. Select Add then Click on Internet Mail. This will open the properties of Internet Mail automatically. If you already have Internet Mail service installed then just select Properties.
- Assign the Mail Account a name.
- Fill in the Name and Organisation.
- Enter your Email Address (details on your TPG Internet invoice) Eg.
username@tpg.com.au
- Enter your e-mail address as your Reply Address.
- Select the Server tag at the top of the window.
- Enter the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers (details on your TPG Internet invoice).
- Check Logon Using then enter your username and password.
- Select the Connection tab at the top of the window.
- Select Modem connection. This will be the TPG connection that you have configured under Dialup Networking.
- Once finished Click Apply and then OK. Exit your mail program through the option exit and log off which is found under Files on the main menu.
- When you re-enter Microsoft Outlook you will be ready to do e-mail.
