We know you are eager to install your new software and begin exploring the Internet, but before you get started, please take a few minutes to read this short guide. It contains relevant information for a smooth installation and configuration of the software. You should have your TPG Internet Invoice or Voucher with you, which has your username & password, as well as other Setup Configuration details you will require.
This configuration sheet assumes that you are using the updated version 2.0 or greater of lBM’s dial-up for TCP/IP.
Step 1: Adding An Internet Service Provider
- In IBM Dial-up for TCP/IP Select Add and enter the following details:
- Name: TPG Internet
- Description: TPG Internet
- Login ID: [your TPG Internet username]
- Password: [your TPG Internet password]
- Phone No: [your TPG Internet dial up Phone Number]

Step 2: Connect Information
- IP Address: 0.0.0.0
- Dest. IP Address: [DNS 1 found on the TPG Internet invoice]

- Tick: VJ Compression
- Domain Nameserver: [DNS 1 found on the TPG Internet invoice]
- Your Host Name: tpg.com.au
- Your Domain Name: tpg.com.au
Step 3: Server Information
- News server: [news server found on the TPG Internet invoice]
- Gopher: [gopher server found on the TPG Internet invoice]
- WWW: [mosaic server found on the TPG Internet invoice]
- POP Mail server: [POP3 email host found on the TPG Internet invoice]
- Reply: domain tpg.com.au

Modem information is specific to your modem, and will have to be filled in according to your modem type. For further information, please consult your modem manual or modem manufacturer.
The last thing that you need to check is that you have a text file called resolv in the path \TCPIP\ETC\RESOLV. This small text file must contain the following information:
- domain tpg.com.au
- nameserver [insert DNS 1 found on the TPG Internet invoice]
- nameserver [insert DNS 2 found on the TPG Internet invoice]
You are now ready to access the internet
