Mac 0S/8 Configuration |
We know you are eager to install your new software and begin exploring the Internet, but before you get started, please take a few minutes to read this short guide. It contains relevant information for a smooth installation and configuration of the software. You should have your TPG Internet Invoice or Voucher with you, which has your username & password, as well as other Setup Configuration details you will require.
Step 1: Setting Up A Modem In Mac 0S/8
Go to the Apple Menu and select Control Panel
PPP Settings:
- Click on Registered user, and put in your Name, Password, select Save Password and put in the Phone Number of the area you are connecting to.
- Click on the Options button
- Under the Connection Tab select Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications
- Select the Protocol Tab and Tick the following settings, allow error correction and compression in modem, use TCP/IP Header Compression, Connect to a command line host, Use terminal window should be selected.
- Click on OK
TCP/IP Settings:
- Go back into the Control Panel and select TCP/IP
- Set Connect Via to PPP (Make sure that you don't put in Mac PPP Instead)
- Under Setup set, Configure to using PPP server, Name server addr: to the Server addresses you were given.
- Close the window and save the changes.
