You can modify a range of previously entered text by selecting it before choosing a text command. PageStream provides several ways to select text:
Drag selection: Choose the Text tool and align the mouse cursor at the beginning of the text block to select. Drag the mouse to highlight the text to select. Release the mouse button when you have selected the desired text.
Extended selection: Place the insertion point at the beginning of the text to select. Move the mouse cursor to the end of the text to select (the text must be in the same article). Hold down a Shift key and click to select the text between the insertion point and the mouse cursor. Shift click after the end of a selected block to extend the block further.
Discontinous Selection: After selecting the first block of text using any method, hold down a Control key and select another block of text.
Word, paragraph and article selection: Double click to select a single word or triple click to select a paragraph. If you want to select all of the text in the article, choose Select All from the Edit menu or quadruple click.
Deselecting text: Click to place the insertion point and deselect text, or press an arrow key.
Pressing any character key except for the Arrow keys while text is selected will erase the text and insert the character placed. Choose Undo from the Edit menu to replace the text if you accidentically delete text this way.
