cross the globe in the frozen fields of Siberia, students aimed launch rockets at Mars. Using mathematical calculations, telescopes, and astronomical maps of the stars, teams of students at the Cosmonautic School plotted the exact launching trajectory for landing on Mars. News of the launch was immediately emailed to other participating schools, where it was received with great enthusiasm. "It's incredible that my students get to communicate with kids their age in Siberia," says Texas teacher Chris Rowan. The fascination is mutual. At the Cosmonautic School, emails from the project line the walls of the school's hallways.
