Bill Swersey has been a photojournalist since graduating from Boston University in 1984. After freelancing in Boston and New York City he joined the Gamma Liason Agency in 1989. In 1991 Bill became Moscow correspondent for the agency. He has traveled extensively in the former Soviet Union working on assignment for Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, and other American and international organizations. In 1995, Bill organized Interfoto, the first international photojournalism festival, in Russia.
