Rick Rickman

Rick Rickman's work for National Geographic and numerous other clients has taken him around the world and into extraordinary situations involving people, cultures, natural resources, and enormous world events. Born in the heartland of America, he developed an insatiable interest in people. A graduate of New Mexico State, Rickman garnered international recognition in 1985 after winning the Pulitzer Prize for News Photography. Rickman's stories have appeared in National Geographic, Life, Time, Geo and other worldwide publications. His work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Museum in the United States, and in Germany and Japan. He has been featured on PBS and has lectured to photography workshops and corporate seminars. Rickman was a finalist in the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Grant in 1982 and 1984 and has received numerous awards in the Pictures of the Year competition.
