Jim McHugh is an accomplished photographer of celebraties, actors and artists in the United States. In addition to photographing the likes of Clint Eastwood, Winona Ryder, Sally Field and David Hockney, McHugh has shot dozens of cover stories for magazines including Life, Time, People, Entertainment Weekly, ARTNews, and The London Times. In 1990, Jim McHugh co-authored, along with museum director Henry Hopkins, California Artists-New Works, for Chronicle Books in San Francsico. The book was the 1990 recipient of the coveted Golden Quill Award. Pictures by McHugh have appeared in several other books, including David Hockney's book, That's the Way I See it, (Chronicle Press,1993) and The Art of Light and Space (Abbeville Press, 1993). McHugh is currently working with the National Academy of Recording Artists on a book about the Grammy Awards, a project for which he has photographed, among others, Tony Bennett, Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel, Natalie Cole, Sheryl Crow and B.B. King.
