Kaku Kurita began his career as a commercial photographer, but in 1964, at the Tokyo Olympics, he turned to photojournalism. Since then, he has become one of Japan's most successful international photojournalists. He started transmitting his photographs on ISDN during the Kobe earthquake of 1995. He has been with Gamma in Tokyo for 22 years. Kurita transmits photos via ISDN, modem and internet.
