Filip Horvat CROATIA Filip Horvat was born in Vinkovci, Croatia. He is a graduate of the Arts and Crafts High School and the Electronics Department of the Technical University in Zagreb. He worked as a freelance photographer in Zagreb for local sports and news magazines before joining the Picture Group agency in 1986. In 1990 he left the Picture Group and started SABA press photos with Marcel Saba. His coverage includes breaking news in the Philippines, Iraq, Iran, Kurdistan, the Soviet Union, revolution in Eastern Europe and war in the Balkans. His work regularly appears in Time magazine, Newsweek, Der Spiegel, Stern, New York Times Magazine, Business Week and other publications around the globe. He won Picture of the Year in Croatia in 1995. He lives in Zabreb, Croatia.
