David Hiser

David Hiser is an outdoor oriented editorial photographer and photo educator. In addition to 60 National Geographic assignments, he has worked for many other publications including Audubon, Life, Stern, Smithsonian and Travel Holiday. His images of an endangered hunter-gatherer culture in Borneo appear in the recently published book, Penan: Nomads of the Dawn. Hiser has twice been a first place winner in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition. He also enjoys teaching and has led almost 40 photography workshops. He is a member of the American Society of Magazine Photographers and is a founding member of Photographers/Aspen, a stock photography agency in Aspen, Colorado. He is represented world-wide by Tony Stone Images and on the internet by Photo Network International.
