Dirck Halstead

Dirck Halstead is Time magazine's Senior White House Photographer, and covers the Clinton White House from his base in Washington, D.C. In 1993, he was one of the original consultants for Video News International. He began his career at the age of 17, covering the Guatemalan revolution for Life magazine, and since then has worked for UPI and Time, traveling all over the world. In addition, Halstead devotes much of his time to motion picture still photography of major motion pictures in production around the world. He has provided poster images for such films as "Goodfellas," "City of Joy," "Boyz N'The Hood," and "Cape Fear." Starting with the primaries of 1996, Halstead will be producing a series of special reports for Time Pathfinder, Time's online World Wide Web service on the Presidential campaign, merging still and video reporting.
