Trouble-Shooting Guide

  • TheDJ logo pulses until it says 'Click to re-try network connection'

    1. You must be logged on to the Internet with at least a 28.8k connection when you're using TheDJ Player.
    2. You might be behind a firewall. If so, then you'll need to update the proxies for TheDJ Player.
      • Go within the Menu and choose the Proxies tab. Update the proxy here. If you're not sure what your proxy is, you can check within your Network Preferences for your internet browser.

  • The music sounds garbled or fades in and out

    1. TheDJ server is currently located in the Bay Area of California. Sometimes the Internet becomes very crowded in Silicon Valley. If you have been experiencing poor music quality, and in particular, garbled sound, the problem is probably packet loss. You can monitor the Quality Bar at the bottom of TheDJ Player, and if you see Red...you're losing packets.
    2. Try running a "traceroute" from TheDJ.com to your Internet Service Provider. Instructions for this are listed on TheDJ.com's Help Page under the "Poor Reception" header.
