Clipboard functions

Images can be manipulated using the standard Cut, Copy, and Paste clipboard functions available on the Edit menu or toolbar buttons. Studio and Animator provide enhanced support for transparency when moving images within or between either component. Further flexibility is available using the Paste Special command, available only on the Edit menu.

Cut

The contents of the Selection Frame are posted to the clipboard and the area is filled with Color B.

Copy

The contents of the Selection Frame are posted to the clipboard.

Paste

The contents of the clipboard are pasted into a new Selection Frame. The new selection can be dragged to the desired location. Any pixels in the selection that match Color B may act transparent while the image is pasted depending on the current setting of Color B in Selection . If the image being edited is not True Color or if the color depth of the image being pasted is greater than the color depth of the image being edited, the image being pasted is translated as best as possible using the current color palette.

Paste Special

Paste Special can be used to access images from the clipboard or external bitmaps. It can place the result into the current selection or create a new selection, either of which can be dragged to the desired location. Any pixels in the pasted selection that match Color B may act transparent while the image is pasted depending on the current setting of Color B in Selection . If the image being edited is not True Color or if the color depth of the image being pasted is greater than the color depth of the image being edited, the image being pasted is translated as best as possible using the current color palette.
