Hardware requirements

TurboIRC ® requires :

• Windows 95 , Windows 98 or Windows NT . TurboIRC will NOT run under the Win32s package of Windows 3.1x
• Pentium processor
• Approx . 5 MB of your hard disk free
• Direct Internet Connection . SOCKS connections are not supported in this beta version .

The following hardware & software is recommended :

• Super VGA with true color ( 24 ) bit . You will not see images and toolbars correctly if your video card is set to a lower color resolution
• 16 MB of RAM . More recommended , if you plan to have many servers opened and/or many aliases/events enabled . TurboIRC makes excellent use of your available memory , freeing all the memory you do not really use . If you don't have the libraries , you will not be able to see the toolbars .
• Internet Explorer 4.0+ or Netscape Navigator 4.0+ installed . TurboIRC includes controls that use the ActiveX IE technology like the Rebars
• Any frame-compatible browser to view the help files . Internet Explorer 4.0+ and Netscape Navigator are able to handle frames.

You will need also the NVIEWLIB.DLL , which is installed in your windows directory . If you delete this library , you will be able to handle only BMP images , not JPG or any other else .

Because TurboIRC ® is an IRC program , you don't need very fast Internet Connections . For a simple chat , 14400 would suffice . You will need 33600 or more speed to be able to transfer files fast .

Windows NT Users

TurboIRC requires approximately 32 - 48 for Windows NT 4.0 Workstation , and 64 MB under Windows NT 4.0 Server . TurboIRC will run with 32 MB , but it will be a little slow .
