Microsoft® NetMeeting™ 2.1 supports adding arbitrary audio and video codec formats for use with NetMeeting. NetMeeting 2.1 also supports enumerating, prioritizing, or removing these codec formats.
Codecs define the format of audio and video information and represent how audio and video are compressed and transmitted over the network. In order to correctly interpret this audio and video information between terminals, the same codec is required at both locations.
Developers can use this reference to learn how to install their own codecs for use in NetMeeting applications.
This reference provides information on the ITU Standard Codecs, RTP Payload Handlers, and third party codecs as they relate to NetMeeting. The NetMeeting interfaces and structures provided by the SDK are required to add audio and video codecs to an application.
