An HTML tag used to indicate a portion of the text within another tag for special processing. You can assign an ID for the SPAN tag and reference this in your DHTML and Visual Basic code. For example, you might use a SPAN tag to indicate that a few of the words in a paragraph should be formatted separately from the rest of the paragraph. You could then apply a unique style to the SPAN. The rest of the paragraph would be unchanged.
