This spectacular four-day event will welcome an estimated 100,000 visitors to an experience of thrilling new competitions, demonstrations, special events and over 200 trade stands. Apart from the coveted Best in Show award - the doggie Oscars, Olympics, World Cup and Brit Awards rolled into one - other highlights include, the Toys and Utility event on Friday the 7th of March, the Working event on Sunday the 9th of March, and, on Thursday the 6th of March, perhaps the highlight of Crufts, the Obedience Bitches event. Visitors will sample the Kennel Club's initiatives to promote responsible dog ownership; most recently 'Discover Dogs', an interactive opportunity to see over 160 different breeds of pedigree dog, and interact with them fully and intimately. Young visitors have the opportunity to learn more about the world of dogs through The Kennel Club Junior Organisation (KCJO). In joining, juniors can experience the fun and excitement of the National Camp, competitions, quizzes and much more. Said Kennel Club spokesman, Brian Leonard: "Crufts is the showcase of all that is positive about dogs. Breeding a quality dog is not the only challenge, qualifying at a championship show, preparation and training with the highest levels of commitment are a pre-requisite of success in any competition at the world's greatest dog show. Admission to Crufts 1997 will be: Single Adult ú8, Child/Senior Citizen ú5, Groups over 10 Adult ú7.50, Child/Senior Citizen ú4.50, Family Ticket ú17 and Late Admissions Adult ú6.50, Child/Senior Citizen ú3.50.
