View Menu

Standard Toolbar
Displays the Standard Toolbar, which allows you to accomplish the following functions with a single click on the corresponding button: new file, open file, save file, print, spell check, cut, copy, paste, and undo last action. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Standard Toolbar is currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the toolbar.

Formatting Toolbar
Available when the current file is in a preview window (except Navigator preview of frames).
Displays the Formatting Toolbar, which allows you to accomplish the following text and paragraph formatting with a single click on the corresponding button: bold, italic, font size, paragraph style (including heading), align paragraph left, align paragraph center, align paragraph right, ordered list, bulleted list, indent paragraph, remove indent, and show format marks. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Formatting Toolbar is currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the toolbar.

Elements Toolbar
Available when the current file is in a preview window (except Navigator preview of frames).
Displays the Elements Toolbar, which allows you to insert the following HTML elements into your Web page with a single click on the corresponding button: link to another Web page, link to anchor in this page, make anchor on this page, link to email address, insert image, image map, horizontal rule, new table, new cell, split cell, new row. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Elements Toolbar is currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the toolbar.

Forms Toolbar
Available when the current file is in a preview window (except Navigator preview of frames).
Displays the Forms Toolbar, which allows you to insert a form and any of the following form elements into your Web page with a single click on the corresponding button: new form, text area, selection, option, text field, password, check box, radio button, submit button, reset button. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Forms Toolbar is currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the toolbar.

Status Bar
Displays the status bar at the bottom of the screen. As your mouse cursor passes over a menu option or toolbar button, the status bar provides a brief description of what that menu option or toolbar button does. A check mark beside this Status Bar option indicates the status bar is currently displayed. Clicking the Status Bar option again removes the status bar.

Show Format Marks
Available when the current file is in a preview window (except Navigator preview of frames).
Displays the following formatting marks in your Web page preview window, to provide you with visual cues as you work: paragraph break (blue P), line break (blue B), form (dotted outline), and table (dotted outline). These formatting marks will not appear when the Web page is viewed in a browser or when it is printed. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the formatting marks are currently displayed in the preview window. Clicking this menu option again removes the formatting marks from the preview window.

View as Netscape Navigator
This menu option will vary based on the current file being viewed:
When the current file is in a preview window, this option is as follows:
Displays the current Web page in a preview window that shows how the Netscape Navigator browser would display the Web page. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the current Web page is being viewed as Netscape Navigator would display it.

When the current file is in a test window, this option is as follows:
Changes the test window to display the Web page as it would appear in the Netscape Navigator browser. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Web page is being tested for Netscape Navigator.

View as Microsoft Internet Explorer
This menu option will vary based on the current file being viewed:
When the current file is in a preview window, this option is as follows:
Displays the current Web page in a preview window that shows how the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser would display the Web page. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the current Web page is being viewed as Microsoft Internet Explorer would display it.

When the current file is in a test window, this option is as follows:
Changes the test window to display the Web page as it would appear in the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Web page is being tested for Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Preview
Available when the current file is in a source view window.
Displays the HTML source code as a Web page in a preview window. This allows you to see how the HTML will actually look in a browser. If a preview window of the current page is already open, Web Factory switches to that window. If there is no preview window open, Web Factory will open a new preview window for the browser you selected in preferences.

View HTML Source...
Available when the current file is in a preview or test window.
Displays a window containing the HTML source code of the current Web page. This allows you to edit the HTML source code directly, if you want to. All menu options and toolbar buttons related to inserting and editing HTML elements are disabled when the source window is current.

To quickly switch back and forth between the source window and preview window, simultaneously press the Control key and Tab key. This cycles through all windows currently open in Web Factory.


Test View
Available when the current file is in a preview, source view, or test window.
Displays the current Web page in a test window, which allows you to see the Web page as it will appear in the browser, and test certain of the more complex HTML elements which do not appear or function in the preview window. The test window allows you to test the following:
Web pages cannot be edited in the test view window. You must select the preview or source view window to make changes. Only one page at a time is displayed in the test view window. You can navigate through several Web pages by clicking on hypertext links to pages on your hard drive or network, or by using the Test View Navigation toolbar buttons, which appear automatically when the test view window is current. The test view window displays the last saved version of the file. To see recent changes to the page, click the Reload button on the Test View Navigation toolbar.

Area Tools
Available when the current file is an image file in the image editor.
Displays the Area tools, which allow you to select part of an image in a variety of ways. The Area tools are, from left to right: drag box, drag freehand, magic wand, brush select, select all, invert selection, replace, add, subtract. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Area tools are currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the tools.

Object Tools
Available when the current file is an image file in the image editor.
Displays the Object tools, which allow you to modify an image object. The Object tools appear automatically and are only available when there is an object in the current image window. The Object tools are, from left to right: move object, trim, blend, magic wand, size, rotate, edit text. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Object tools are currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the tools.

Filter Tools
Available when the current file is an image file in the image editor.
Displays the Filter tools, which allow you to apply a variety of interesting effects to an image. The Filter tools are, from left to right: blur, sharpen, adjust color, zoom, posterize, gray-scale, texture, texture recolor, smudge, shuffle, stamp, stamp recolor. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Filter tools are currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the tools.

Paint Tools
Available when the current file is an image file in the image editor.
Displays the Paint tools, which allow you to draw on an image. The Paint tools are, from left to right: freehand, lines, K-lines, frame, round frame, ellipse, filled rectangle, filled round rectangle, filled ellipse, airbrush, flood fill, recolor, grab color. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the Paint tools are currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the tools.

Brush Shapes
Available when the current file is an image file in the image editor.
Displays the Brush Shapes, which allow you to select just the right size and shape of brush for trimming objects or painting on images or applying filters. The brush shapes include eight sizes of round brushes and six sizes of square brushes, with the smallest square equaling one pixel in size. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the brush shapes are currently displayed. Clicking this menu option again removes the brush shapes.

Normal View
Available when the current file is an image file in the image editor.
If the current image window has been zoomed in or out, this returns the window to a normal view of 1 to 1. A check mark beside this menu option indicates the image is currently displayed in normal view (that is, it is not zoomed in or out).

Zoom
Available when the current file is an image file in the image editor.
Magnifies or reduces your view of the current image. Zooming in allows you to "get closer" and see the image in more detail. Zooming out allows you to "stand back" for the overall effect. The zoom sub menu allows you to zoom either direction, from two to eight levels. For example, 8:1 is zoomed in the most, 2:1 is zoomed in the least. Using this zoom feature does not change the actual size of the image, just your view of it.
