Setting the Security Method in Internet Explorer
See the sample or the
readme.
Internet Explorer has three different security methods to
handle potential security problems with controls and scripting.
The security levels are:
- High - Prohibit loading active content. Issue an error message.
- Medium - Warn when loading potentially problematic active content.
The user is given a choice of accepting or reject the download.
- None - Permit active content.
By default, Microsoft® Internet Explorer has the
Security Method set to High.
To work with unsigned ActiveX™ controls, Java™
applets, and scripting on the same page, you must set the Security
Method to either Medium or None.
- In Internet Explorer, from the View menu, choose Options.
- In the Options dialog box, select Security.
- On the Security page, click the Safety Level button.
- For the Security method, select Medium or None.
Select Medium to receive warnings regarding active content (recommended).
Select None to trust all active content.
- Click OK twice.
- View the page again. Press F5 to refresh the page if you are
not seeing the applet.
