SQL-Sombrero/OCX for OCI

Programming Interface for Oracle Call Interface (Oracle Server's C Programmers API)

SQL-Sombrero/OCX is a programming interface to Oracle Call Interface, Oracle Server's Low Level API for C programmers. As an OLE Custom Control , SQL-Sombrero/OCX exposes the functions that are used to build Oracle Server front-end applications for the Windows operating environment. Comes in both 16/32 bit versions.

SQL-Sombrero/OCX is a member of the SQL-Sombrero family of products made available by SFI. This Oracle Call Interface / OCX is a direct 16 or 32 bit programming interface to OracleΓ ServerΣ from any environment supporting OLE Custom Controls. Take advantage of Visual BasicΓ 4.0 and Visual Basic for Applications products to develop Oracle Server applications for Windows 95 and Windows NT Σ3.51 today!

SQL-Sombrero/OCX is an OLE Custom Control providing a direct interface to Oracle Call Interface (the API for Oracle Server). The OLE Custom Control is simply an implementation of a native level interface to Oracle Server which can be dropped on to a Visual Basic 4.0 form or created from within Visual Basic for Applications.

OLE Custom Control (OCX) terminology may seem frightening for programmers that have never embarked down the OLE development path, but in reality its usage is not very different than a set of methods provided by SQL-Sombrero / OCX for OCI. It is simply an object within your application which contains a function call interface to Oracle Server.

Once the non-visual control is established in your application, the object exposes a set of functions, methods, variables, and events which are straight forward and familiar to any Visual Basic / Oracle Server developer, and quickly learned by novices.

SQL-Sombrero/OCX takes advantage of OLE Custom Control technology. It may have required an OLE 2 guru to create it, but virtually any Visual Basic / Visual Basic for Applications - Oracle Server developer can use it.

Features ╖ Step by step OLE2 Object Registry instructions ... (very easy) ╖ Visual Basic 4.0 Language and Context Sensitive Features ...(SQL-Sombrero becomes part of the Visual Basic language. Use the browse facility to access functions and constants. Take advantage of the online help facility to gain direct context sensitive help on SQL-Sombrero/OCX functions.) ╖ Full OCI interface ... (you're not going to be left debugging a black box of super functions) ╖ Complete Control ... (Developers like to be in the driver's seat, and SQL-Sombrero/OCX puts you there and gives you the keys.) ╖ Ease of Use ... (Low level functionality from a high level programming environment) ╖ Inexpensive ... (Create new technology, with the latest technology, without that bleeding edge sting) ╖ Proven Leadership ... (SFI is a proven leader in the SQL Server Interface arena. SFI has continually provided developers with solid, responsive, and quality tools. SFI's SQL-Programmer is the only "Must Have" tool for SQL Server programmers and the SQL-Sombrero family is being applauded for providing programmers with the tools they need.) ╖ Better than ODBC ... (No black box middle ware; Deployment is non intrusive... no ODBC INI headaches; Easier to implement finished products on networks; Full control result set processing, and Real Speed!)
